The Little Prince
A modern, minimalist shoot with an ethical approach.
Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupery's 'The Little Prince', this shoot, styled in The Engine Room at Barton Court, Colwall, was crafted with the purpose of celebrating the simple, the playful and the ethical. With a modern, minimal look at it's core, colour and texture was built up using gold, orange and amber accents and it was beautifully captured by the talented Laura Martha Photography. The decorative touches I used not only reflected key motifs from throughout the story; they also could be seen as more sustainable features in any modern wedding reception - including a recyclable paper origami bird backdrop which I handmade for the shoot, re-usable air plants, and the creations of suppliers who pride themselves on being both unique and ethically responsible. Notable suppliers included Tiny Sarah's Cakes, who make original, bold and totally vegan cakes; Coop Couture who specialise in handmade, knitted-silk dresses and separates; Keep. Collect who designs beautiful journals and keepsake boxes to preserve wedding memories and Rebecca Winder, who makes responsibly sourced, beautiful fine gold jewellery. The story centres around a child's perspective of the adult world and the importance of exploration, responsibility and taking joy from simplicity; which is exactly what we aimed to capture.
