Flic + Niko

"Kate was an absolute dream from the start; we could feel the stress lifting as soon as she came on board. She brought the perfect mix of calm and confidence to collaborate with us and help us realise what we should and should not be worrying ourselves with. At all times, she led us by the hand, never controlled us; suggested and never bossed. We felt that we had total ownership of the wedding with an expert mentor to guide us. And with her exceptional organisational skills, Kate was able to help us plan and split our time properly. Not only can Kate organise your day, but she has a magical box of creative inspiration at her fingertips. Give Kate a creative problem and not only will she help you solve it but she will come up with several solutions – all of them original. Her creativity and style are infectious. It really was a joy planning with Kate – no task was dull to her. She took it all on with confidence, amazing enthusiasm and professionalism.

On the day Kate was first to arrive at the venue, ran the suppliers like clockwork – deliveries, caterers, band and all associated helpers – and went beyond our expectations transporting people and items around East London until 1 in the morning. She was the calm in the whirlwind."

Felicity and Nikolai tied the knot at Trinity Buoy Wharf, Greenwich in May 2018. It's a bohemian, industrial venue and
with a ceremony, reception dinner and dancing to accommodate in one, enormous room, it was important to create individual spaces which flowed beautifully from one to another. Using items such as a gorgeous flower arch (built by Niko's father), eclectic sofas and chairs and luxurious white drapes we could create a relaxed yet intimate setting in a variety of different ways.

This was a wedding built around an incredible variety of international ties, from Niko's Danish heritage, to the couple's time spent living in the Hutongs of Beijing, to South Africa where Flic's family hail from. As a result, we designed elements which centred around specific items that represented these significant places, such as a vibrant table plan made from Chinese Hong-Bao, napkin ring favours handmade by a women's collective in Plettenberg bay and a beautiful hand-dyed fabric used for the top table, crafted by Flic's Aunt. This array of personalised creations came together to form a truly bespoke and elegantly chic wedding, which perfectly reflected the couple's generous natures and joyful personalities.
