Courtenay + Chris

Courtenay and Chris first reached out to me back in 2018, whilst they were in the early stages of their Cotswold garden wedding plans; as it was set to take place at a private home they knew they wanted someone to run the show on the day and needed a little bit of logistical advice too! The land they were using had some access issues to juggle, so we spent some time working out how best to fit their set up and schedule around to suit all the suppliers coming in, as well as deciding on how their guests could be moved from space to space in order to maximise on the gorgeous surroundings.

After their private civil ceremony in the morning, C + C arrived for their blessing, hosted by a close friend out on the lawn overlooking the rolling Gloucestershire countryside; just before it started Courtenay managed to sneak a little something into Chris' pocket (see the snaps for the big reveal) and definitely scored some big points for it! Another friend had created a huge wooden tipi, adorned with trailing flowers for the couple to stand beneath and the rain clouds (thankfully!) passed us by. Afterwards, their guests enjoyed some excellent homemade garden games, including a giant Ker-Plunk and, of course, Beer Pong: fortunately Bison kitchen knocked out tray after tray of canapés to keep everyone going...

In the marquee, it was clear how much of a family affair this wedding was; so many elements were built, made and and designed by an army of willing helpers, from the enormous dessert table and cake laid on by Courtenay's brother-in-law, to the doughnut wall built by Chris himself, right on through to the table numbers, sign post, conversation kick-starters, glo-stick station (for the silent disco, of course) and huge mirrored seating plan. After more BBQ-style goodness from Bison Kitchen and the speeches (including Courtenay's, and you know how much I am HERE for a bride speech!) the party really kicked off with live music from The Somebody's and a late night ice-cream delivery, which was definitely a crowd pleaser; it was a boozy, fun-filled and beautiful day for a couple who truly deserved it.
